Roughly five months ago, my previous business partner let me know she didn’t want to move forward with our venture. I understood — our paths were moving in different directions, and logistics service providers are having a tough go.

A week later, my second daughter was born, and paternity leave gave me plenty of time to reflect on what was next. A few things were clear from the start: I want to take care of my family. I want our employees to have a place where they can do the same for theirs. And I want to continue being the best at servicing our clients.

How I was going to achieve that was the problem to solve.

Twelve years ago, when I stumbled into logistics, my first job was with Access America Transport. I was placed on a team deeply involved in the energy sector and high-value commodities. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that was the beginning of what would become CargoVolt.

Over the years, I explored different parts of this industry. At Coyote Logistics, the dry van and refrigerated giant, I still found myself pulled back toward complex, niche freight. If there’s an easier path, I’ve never taken it. Complicated freight must be in my bloodline.

At Cool Way Logistics, we built on that foundation without even realizing how much momentum we were gaining. Our clients naturally gravitated toward three core pillars: Energy, Infrastructure, and High-Value Commodities.

When we closed Cool Way, CargoVolt was born directly from our clients’ needs and our employees’ expertise. Today, just 60 days in, we have already moved more than 2,000 loads across those three pillars. And we do it for one simple reason: our clients deserve specialized service. Full stop.

That is why we built CargoVolt. Not to be another jack-of-all-trades brokerage, but to be the trusted partner for clients who need someone who understands the stakes of shipping in Energy, Infrastructure, and High-Value freight. Because in these sectors, it just means more.
